The ice is still on the lake and fisherman have been out all weekend battling the rain and wind. But their efforts have not proven well for crappies. Walleye have been biting very well, but season is closed and they all want Crappies. The few that have been caught have been later in the evening and early morning. With spring on its way they should be moving into shallower water. The shore line ice is still breaking up some but the ice on the main body of water is still good to travel on. There are no bridges that I know of on the lake to cross the pressure ridge, so if you would like to cross a snowmobile is your best option for travel. ATV’s can get around too but you need to be careful where you try and cross. The weatherman is talking colder temps for us this week, which should help prolong ice out. The crappies are going to bite this spring. I just hope your around when the do. Good luck and use common sense when on the ice!!
