Red Lake crappies fishing is finally picking up speed. From now til ice out we should see the report improving. Both the North end and South end of the lake are showing improved signs of life. Yet it seems that the better numbers right now are coming from the North end. With that said, it has showed limits to anglers still being skunked. The key is being mobil, if your not seeing much on the Vexilar around dust, you better be moving.

Sean has there been a bait that has worked best for you? Plan on heading up and looking for some info.
    Thanks Sifty

Demon glow jigs tipped with a medium to large crappie minnow or chub, and another good bait is a forage minnow jigging spoon tipped with part of a minnow. Normally when the fish come in and they are active, just about anything will catch them, but these have been my two better set ups when fishing those slabs…good luck let me know if you get up there how it went for you…

Thanks Sean for the update. I have had a couple buddies up there the last two weekends now and they have said the same thing as the bite seems to be improving a little compared to earlier this winter. I hope its a step in the right direction. I plan to get up there the weekend after the Walleye Expo which would be Feb 7th-9th.

Maybe we can try and hook up sometime up there!
