Wow amazing how a little fish stocking over the last two years will turn a lake around. Walleyes are now biting on Pokegama. Any of you that have fished Pokey, are probably saying come on, it hard enough to get them in the summer let alone in the winter. Well its true, it may not be one after another but a consistent bite it is. The seeem to be everywhere, the main bite is from early afternoon til 8 pm. Start in 25-30 feet next to your piece of structure and as it gets closer to sunset move into 16-20 feet. When they come through it can be fast and furious.
The perch are so under fished I can’t believe it. There are numbers and numbers of Jumbos many of times mixed in with those walleyes. 10-13 inch perch can make a great meal for anyone. Hey Pokey is right here in Grand Rapids and under fished in my opinion, get out there and give it a try.
