My fishing bud and I made our annual trip to Cass and had a good outing. We limited out on day one with a nice bunch of 15-17 inch eaters. (See Attachment above.)

We jigged steep drops in 35-55 feet of water with 3/8th ounce jigs and fathead minnows. Picked up a fish here, a fish there. Basically dropped a jig down anytime we marked fish. No big fish, just nice keepers.

The weather was cold and windy…we had the lake to ourselves while listening to shotguns off in the distance. Man I love this time of year!

    Jon,

Sounds like you guys had a good time.
Was the bite better morning, evening, midday?
Did you guys pull any fish at night at all?

Thanks for sharing the pics. Absolutely beautiful country!

We got started on Cass about 9:30 am and we were done around 3:00 pm. So it was a daytime deal for us. Like I said, one here, one there, no real concentration of fish. Just keep working up and down those sharp breaks. (They are everywhere on the lake!!)

We did not venture out at night. Part of this trip was to relax a little too. I would think there would be a good bite at night. Gin clear water and a full moon….don’t get me started!!

The fall colors were in their peek.
