opener on Red?

So who is making the trip to Red for opener? I would imagine live bait rigging could bring in a few… Can’t wait to hear the reports come in this year.

Buy a ticket now to get in the Zoo that will become of Red Lake this opener, Of corse I already have a camp site. Should be a good time. Going out of Morts, Any other IDAers going? maybe hook up and have a beer?

So, do you guys think that opening the walleye season on the Red will take some of the pressure off Mille Lacs opener this year. I hope so.

I would say not enough to notice a difference. Red’s extra walleye opener boats will be coming from all over…I think those that fish mille lacs will save the gas money…hassle of finding a place to stay up there…and the chance to take home four fish instead of two. Just my .02cents. See on the pond!

keeping 2 fish while on the lake but think you can have your 6 fish off the lake?

If you’re on dry land in MN, you can have 6 walleyes in your possession
BUT
As I understand the regs, only 2 of those 6 can be walleyes that were taken from URL.

I hope I’m not reading your post the wrong way….yes, there are other places in the area that you can go and catch/keep a few more walleyes.

What I think is:
I would NOT try to squeeze through some loophole with more than 2 Red Lake walleyes in my possession.
