Had to scratch the itch to get on the ice so I made a call up to Cookie at red lake to get a house rented for somewhere to sleep. He had the house warmed up and lights on when we got there friday night. Sat morning we hit the ice at 630 went out to 7ft off the first break, set up and never moved. Fished started to come in right at sunrise and continued all day long till it got dark then they died off. Midday bite was not hot and heavy but good enough to stay out. Evening was just as good as the morning bite. We caught all our fish on spoons, with red taking the most. Caught a few fish on tip ups. Lots of fish in the 16-19″ range. Biggest was 24″. Sunday was a little slower but we still caught a fair amount for the couple hours we fished. Ice was 6-9″

Sounds about how we did yesterday out there. We moved and drilled alot. There is some bad ice still the further you get out.

What was the best mode of transportation up there on the ice? Looks like it was fun!

We used wheelers. Not much snow left after saturdays warm weather.
