Well, if you have nice weather (i.e., light wind), make the trek up to Garden Island for the day. Plan on a shore-lunch at the State Recreation Area landing site on the NE corner of the Island. Fish the Starren Shole bite on the S side, its been fairly decent all summer. Pulled the nice 40″ pike (pict below) and a bunch of W’s off there about June 20. If they are not wild there, try over on the W side of Garden, probably a 16-25 f.o.w. bite out about 1 mile SW of Garden. Finally, if you have time, zoom up further North to the sand flats off of Little Oak. An amazing bite happening there, troll some jigs or spinners and you’ll boat your limit in short order (28″ W pict below is from Little Oak, c.p.r. on June 24).

All this depends on the wind…if its 10mph or more, stay at home and fish the rock reefs out of Arne’s. I’ll stress it again: _stay at home if its windy__, no fun in 6′ rollers. Probably not as fast a bite, but you’ll get some. When I’ve stayed with them they are very good about sharing where everyone is “getting them” just outside the resort….they just don’t talk about the Garden Island/Little Oak bites because they are a 14 mile drive and very weather dependent.

Personally, I will be fishing out of Kenora in the Northern Islands during these days…MUCH less wind dependent…but that involves a border crossing….

    Good luck!
