Lodging on LOW: Wheelers Point vs Zipple Bay

I am planning my first trip to LOW in the middle of Sept. I have looked at going to Wheelers Point resort and Zipple Bay resort. Any recommendations regarding the pro’s and con’s of each?

If the wind blows too hard you can still fish the river if you stay on the point.
Zippel is closer to fishing, lots of times in Sept the sauger stack on the sand out of Zippel.
If I had my choice it would be Zippel, your closer to some structure off long point rather than making a long run if you dont want to drag the basin.

As long as the boat is on the trailer, you can always scoot to the river if the wind makes thing tough. The wind can be bad enough no one in their right mind would go out on the lake. The river is protected enough and in September depending on the date, the eyes run the river.

Interferes with my sturgeon fishing.

Thajnks for the info. Rainy Lake has recently entered the picture also. Any recommnedations regarding Rainy vs LOW?
