Well there is a great bite going on the pond rate now we fished for 4 days out of border view lodge and the fish are holding close to the gaps in the am with a jig and leech technique outside the lighthouse gap we had great success all 4 days in 18 to 21 feet of water until around 10am then again after 6pm the best color was gold by far about 6 inches off the bottom making contact with the bottom every so often the midday bite is out in the 32-35 depth range about 7 miles out of the gap jig and minnow or leech will work along with 3 foot snells and gold spinners with gulp alive crawlers we had some limited success downrigging but for #s the live bait is still the ticket these are very unusual tactics for this time of year on the pond so take advantage of this great in close bite if at all possible i would estimate we caught between 30-60 fish a day for the 3 of us have fun.
