I would like to make reservations for early April, for the rainy river walleye run!!!!

    Do you have any openings?

Gary, forget those walleyes. Up until last year I had made that trip for probably 8 of the 10 previous years. Last year I did the Sturgeon Excursion and am doing it again this year and plan on the next year. Nothing like hooking into a fish that feels like a tractor in low gear. Also, no bumper boats when sturgeon fishing. I can save that for Red Ring.

    nah!
I chase big tunas all year…….(muskies). This is a group of 4 of us going to hit the river. Too fun not to go!

Fish AT…you can always tell when someone has never hooked into a big sturgeon. <sigh>

Gary, might as well stay up there until we get up there on the 20th!

If I were to stay up there that long, I would never come back! LOTW is the walleye and muskie mecca of the world!

And yes BK, I’ve hook plenty of “tuna” sturgeon up there…..get’s boring on a 6′ medium action jigging rod, torquing the snot out of your reel, on a fish you just can’t move for 30 minutes!

Show me the 10lb tuna eyes!!!!!!

Oooh yes….Been there and dun it. Although the camaraderie from the other boats/spectators is kind of fun.

1st time I took my wife up I hooked into one around 45″ on 6lb. mono and a 6.5′ ML rod. Well, she had a crash course on operating our, new at the time, tiller boat to keep us off the shore and to catch-up to the fish. Honestly she picked up real fast and did awesome.
