I’m staying in a sleeper at Zipple Bay the weekend of Feb. 16th. We have the package that includes a shallow water sleeper and a deep water day house. My question is, is it worth it to spend one of our days at one of their warming houses fishing for northerns? Have any of you ever tried it and if so what quantity and size of fish could one expect? If it’s a waste of time, I would like to know it before loosing one of the only three days we have up there.

I would say it is a little early for the really good pike fishing. Not that you won’t get some, just that it is a little early for the Really good action. I know if I was up there I would opt to fish the lake for walleye as much as possible.

The really good tip up fishing starts in early March. Work the ice this time of year for walleyes you’d be better off. Good Luck and have a great trip.
