We fished 12-17-06 out of Springsteel sand bar. set up in 15 feet of water. Morning was kinda slow but after 1:00 they started to get much more agressive. 4 of us brought home 13 nice fish. 3 pike just under 30″ in our house we lost 4 fish that were rod benders and were not pike by the way they felt. Over all it was a good day on the pond. What I found out is I had fish below me all day long. They were chasing but not eating. Tried light jigging but that seemed to scare them down. Tried dead sticking for only a few hits. For the most part I was ripping the jigs up about 2 feet at a time then hold and watch them rip up to it and hit it like they wanted it. This is odd from what I know for Eye fishing on the pond. go figure?? As for color, I tried every kind and color in the box, I did not find any one color or style that stood out. Could have been the weather that turned the fish off, the wind was a bit over the edge and snowing most of the time.
