Fun Weekend on LOTW

Got back from LOTW Sunday night. I would say we had a very good time with lot’s of fish caught & lot’s of beer drank . I went with a group of 10 guy’s out of Walleye Retreat just out side of Baudette. For the group we caught 200+ saugers & walleye’s, 2 pout, 20 tulibees, & 8 Jumbo’s. All & all it was a great time. A lot of small fish from 8-11″ but we got 10 limit’s of 13-16.5″ walleye/sauger’s. No big eyes caught but did get one 14″ Jumbo. Can’t wait until next year!

Sounds like you caught some good tastey fish there. We usually go up in May – June. I havent been there while the Ice has covered the massive lake , but would like to give it a try. Where do you go out of? Last year was our 3rd year at the woods, which ended up being the not one of the best of the three but we still managed a limit to take home . Good luck and nice perch…………. Sounds like a great time how deep were you fishing 26-34….?. what was the hot color or jig….?

Sorry it took so long to get back. We went out of walleye retreat just outside of Baudette. The good thing about them is that they are always moving their houses if the fishing slows down. Cirus resort was right next to us and a group of guys we knew went out of there and did not even bring limits home.

We were fishing in 34 feet of water & small & simple was the best choice. Gold swedish worked well with a green sticker. And a light jig is what paid off, as soon has you jigged hard they were gone.

Hows the travel off road?

It was impossible unless you had a snowmobile. There was a foot+ of snow.
