Fishing was very good for my boat this weekend! We spent 80% of our time jigging with LIVE emerald shiners. Border Bait had some nice ones with the shiners running. We had frozen shiners with but u deal with the mush/mess and i perfer the tail kick with jigging a live shiner!

9/28- We started at 8am out in front of the gap in 26.5fow anchored and jigged with pink/white glow jigs and chartreuse were the colors that work with very wet rainy conditions. We jigged til about 10:30 with 30 fish caught and boxed 6 nice eaters. But with lack of size we pulled leadcore in the same depth range and mustered a couple 15\” saugers. By noon we had some 6 foot waves on the south pine island area caused by a strong nw wind so we headed in early. We dried off and headed out at 4pm again but didn\’t make it far as the waves got way too big! Mind u i have a 20ft glass boat! I estimated 6-8ft waves just north of the gap! Thats being on the conservitive side!

9/29- Wind switched from the south over night at 8-15mph so u decided to run to knight bridges area without catch much out from the gap. After the 17 mile run we were wondering if we mad the right move since we hand not seen a single boat since the gap! But we did!! We set up off a reef edge in 29-30 fow and started jigging with a gold jig and a glow pink/white jig and a LIVE emerald! We have our limits of 17.5-19.25\” walleyes and 15\” saugers in timed 88 minutes! We caught a couple bigger slot fish in our time between eaters. By far the best jig sunday was the KenKatch Tackle banana head GOLD Plated jig! With sunny conditions gold plated has always shined for me on low! I will also mention 9 footer has good fishing also at this time! We headed north for lake of size out from the gap! Good Luck!

Nicely done! That is a beauty of a fish you posted!!! I may be naive, I have fished big water a bit, have experienced oahe and MLacs when nasty, but I have never fished LOW. Can waves really get 6-8 feet out there? I have surfed a few areas in U.S. and I’m having a hard time visualizing that. That would be insane!

P4 it was the biggest waves ive been in. And yet it reminded me of the ocean just a much closer together wave. I felt i was driving up and down the waves. I wanted to take pictures becuase it was wild!.

I have heard others mention with the wrong wind out there the waves can be absolutely monstorous. Closer together even more dangerous! Glad the fishing was great, keep on em!
