Spent the weekend fishing on the Rainy from Baudette upstream to the Rush river. 3 guys in the boat we had 60 fish with 10 over 60″. Water was low and 3 oz sinkers held. Did real well as the sun went down and all the other boats went home untill midnight or so. 65″ was the biggest. The river had just opened up in front of BoarderView lodge and buy now I’m sure its well into 4 mile bay. Suckers are all over the bait as soon as it hits the bottom.

    Hello,
I am going up sturgeon fishing this weekend with my girlfriend. Hoping to get her hooked. Can you please help me out and give me some more details like how long of a lead u were using and how many crawlers. Hook size. Maybe a spot or two. Thanks

Have Done Well Out In Front Of ballardS ReSort And Down Stream To LakE. Try Along Grass IslandS AnD The Gap. Four Or Five Crawlers On A 5/0 Circle Hook Maybe Mix In A Few Rainbows. Look For Big Hooks On Your Locator In 25 Plus Feet Of Water. Good Luck

Put in at Clementson and fish just downstream from the Rapid River casting your line towards Canada. We used 3 or 4 circle hooks with 3 crawlers and 2 rainbows. Bite really picked up from 8-11 pm. Good luck.
