Well we made our trip.. like the rest of you we were a little nervous about being able to even launch the boat..

We headed out thursday night around 7:00 heading north.. Plans were to have time for a few stops on the way to kill some time and have a little fun.. then arrive at the landing right on time to start fishing.. I gotta thank black bear casino for a free trip

anyway we get up to the resort have some breakfast and arrive at the landing at 6:30.. it was about 9 when we got the boat in the water.. took us a bit to put together any kind of bite.. but managed to find a few things that were working..

The bite seemed to be nonexistent for most anglers we talked to…

one thing we noticed the further downriver you went the worse the fishing got… most of our fish were caught between 5 and 10 feet of water..

friday was a nicer day with sun and we had no problem putting good numbers of 16-19 inch fish in the boat. with over fifty fish for the boat friday.. saturday was snowy very cloudy and fishing was much slower with only 10-15 fish for the boat..

good friend of my dads made the trip from missouri with a 30″ fish on his mind.. saturday we got to the landing and he was a little shell shocked with a couple inches of fresh snow in the boat and building quickly.. he did manage a fish well over 30″ and it sure got his blood pumping while he was battling a giant fish..

the bite sure isn’t what we drive all the way up there for but we had a good time no less!

    Nice looking Walleyes,
the only guarantee is, is if you don’t go, you won’t catch anything.
Still a nice trip, except for the long lines.
    Jack
