Just got back from zipple bay and the fishing was poor. Between me and my buddy we managed maybe 6 walleye/sauger and about 6 tullibee for 2 full days. We were fishing in 35 feet of water and most if not all of the walleye/sauger we caught came up with bulgy eyes and stomachs coming out of their mouths. Really disappointed to say the least.

We rented a sleeper shack. No electricity or anything that we payed for. Guess thats why u make reservations months in advance instead of days..

A friend just got back from up there after a 4 day trip. He said it was the worst fishing they have had in 20 years of fishing up there. he was up earlier in the season and said it was some of the best fishing they have ever had. Thats why they call it fishing and not catching.

I talked to a few people on the way in and they did pretty good in the shallower waters. Im sure moving the sleepers once a month wouldnt hurt either..

Your right fishthumper. My hopes were through the roof after reading some reports of 50 fish a day. Im done ranting now haha im sure we just hit it at a bad time or something. Our best presentation was a dead stick and fathead btw. Jiggins spoons and blade baits caught a few also but seemed to prefer a pink hook and small frisky fathead.

This suck to hear. I’m heading to zipple bay one week from Sunday. Looks like the weather will be steady and the fishing will get better hopefully

50 fish a day is not out of the ?. When my friends were up earlier this season that is the kind of #’s they were getting. Its all a matter of the fishes moods when you are up there.

Went there last weekend fished in 33 fow and it was real slow. When we were leaving we heard good reports of people having success in the shallows.

I was out of Warroad last Sunday and Monday. Two of us had to work to put five walleyes in the bucket. We were in 22 fow. The resort moved the houses to that location on Friday. The guys on Friday and Saturday had very good luck. The whole area bombed after that.
