How are the ice conditions going to be later this week and this weekend with the warm weather we are having. We were planning a trip from wed to sunday out of Warroad. I have heard some stories of guys going trough the ice when they cross the Pressure cracks.

Just fished out of bablers rd (next to Arnesens and goes out to 16 mile reef…). When I left yesterday morning there was no melt going on so ice conditions were perfect. BUT with 8″ of snow on lake and the warm temps that are coming next weekend will be sloppy. I see no issues with the ice though. The only crack that was there was only a 1/2 mile off shore (just prior to gull rock…) and that was nicely bridged by Babler. You’ll be fine but make sure and have good waterproof boots cause its goona’ be wet out there! RR

I’m kinda wondering the same thing. Going up thurs nite to Monday. I know the resorts started bringing in perms yesterday. We got plans to fish the river if the ice condition is to poor. We also got wheelers, sleds and portables to go out if the landings are still ok. I think driving a truck on the ice will be sketchy. Last i heard there was 36″ of ice No way to really know til ya get up there.
