LOW ice Poll

This warm weather has me thinking about our March 20th LOW trip this year.

March 20th? Heck…I’m worried about my 3 day trip on the weekend of the 10th!…RR

Guess we’re really pushin it then since we are supposed to head up late in March for a couple days.
I called Wigwam today and they said they have 28-30 inches of ice and the forecast for up there is cold over nights last time I looked for at least the next few days.
I am betting there will be plenty of ice to fish…may not be able to use 4 mile bay but the main basin should be okay…..I hope.

It will depend on what area of the lake you want to fish.

I was looking to do a last weekend in March trip with a buddy. We pulled out his log from the last 17 years. Looking through it, we noticed that the current ice conditions were about 8-10″ less. Don’t think we will be making the trip up for ice fishing that weekend.

Was fishing April 10th last year with an ATV and even saw a truck yet! Had two feet of ice yet, but of course it was garbage ice. If you are running ATVs or willing to walk out even you would be suprised how late you can fish.
