3 rd weekend in March. our group decided to go with a sleeper for a change. If we go to Zippel Bay would it be best to get the shallow house with deep day house or will fish be shallower most of the day by then?

Make sure you go with someone that has a good reputation.. Just got back from zipple bay, stayed in a sleeper and got lied to by the guy I rented from. The guy wasn’t able to meet me @ the time we planned on cause he had to goto the bar, so I had to wait for him so I could follow him out to the shack I rented. I’m surprised he found the shack.. Fished in 30 fow and the action wasn’t as good as everyone said it would be.. Maybe 15 fish a day.. Never again for me.. Fricken bullscat!! We were the only house around.. I bet the shacks that were all in the same area as each other did a lot better than me. Bigger fish came at night but action was slower. Caught two eel pout over 10 pounds! Stop signs produced a whopping 1 fish while buckshot spoons did way better. Gold jigs worked good 1 day then not even a sniff the next few. Over 50 percent of the fish came small pink hook, split shot and slip bobber 1 foot off the bottom. I’d strongly reccomend going with someone with a good rep! Good luck

And by big, I mean 17 inches. Didn’t see any over 18. Average size was 12-13 inch. Caught 1 tullibee also.. Atleast that’s what I’m assuming it was. It was around 10 inches.

Jake, I assume you did not stay with “Zippel Bay Resort”??? That is not how Nick and deanna run their show. I am guessing it was just someone else that rented houses thorough the Zippel Bay area????? Please elaborate as I dont want to see a great resort get this rap. Thanks, Mark

Sleepers on LOW are worthless unless you are chasing eelpout.

“worthless” …… unless you want to save a couple bucks ($200 vs $350)and are sick of coming in at 4:30 pm in March when sunset is at 7:30 pm.
