Was up on the big lake on Saturday with my brother and a friend and had a blast,got our limit of nice eyes and saugers. Got them in 27 feet of water using shiners, the shiners are running in the river. 
What was the water temp? What area were you fishing? We usually fish pine island area when the shiners are running. I’ll be up in 2 weeks, cant wait. Thanks for the report 
We are heading up to fish the Rainy river on Friday for a week, I hope there in the river..
WE were in 27 feet of water using the river shiners. We were out of the gap towards Morris resort about 3 miles from the gap. The wind was from the east.Anchored using a jig worked for us. I talked to my brother in-law and he said on Friday they were having doubles and triples going all day long out of long point. The shiners are thick in the river. Morris resort had their seines out.
Temp was 56 degrees

our group from the qc will be fishing the river as well. last year alot of small fish not many slots. hopefully they slam them this year. water temps in the high 50’s to 60 as far as i can tell. a few cold days this week to get that temp down.
i have a wedding i’m in virginia for.
