As I’m getting older I keep misplacing things. Years ago I could set something down and 2-3 days later could remember exactly where it was. Now I set stuff down and 3 hours later I’m lost.

Most recent events included my Leatherman Tool (which I carry everywhere) Cell phone (ever call yourself to locate your phone?) checkbook. (Boy was wifey pissed about that)

I always find the stuff, but I just can’t remember as well as years ago. I’m blaming it on “brain overload vs old age.”

Anybody have any interesting stories they aren’t to embarrassed to share?

I was out grouse hunting a few years ago for a few days, was walking and happened upon a nice pocket knife laying on the ground and what do you know low and behold it was my pocket knife that I must have dropped the previous day not knowing I did. If I hadn’t seen it I probably would have thought I miss place it and looked all over for it and would have never found it.

Lets see. If I set my glasses down in the garage and turn around, I am screwed. Many a time I would have to call the wife to help find them. People will ask me if I remember something that happened 5 years ago and my response is hell I can’t remember what I had for supper the day before. The cause is age and I have been rode hard and put away wet too many times.

funny thing happened to my wife the other day, she gets a call from Randy, but it wasn’t Randy it was ShopKo calling saying they found this phone and she must have been the last person Randy had called. My wife called Randy’s wife to tell her to have Randy go get the phone at ShopKo. Randy’s wife said he never goes to ShopKo. So Randy was at ShopKo, lost his phone, and didn’t even know where he was at. he did recall calling my wife to wish her a happy b-day.

I have some good stories but I just cant seem rto remember them now but I will ask why is it when I set a tool down and go pick it up 10 minutes later its not there so I go and hunt for it and I come back to the same spot I previously looked and its sitting in plain sight and I swore it was not there earlier.

years ago I was ringing out the cash register to my store at the end of day. the noormal procedure was to take the tape from the register, copy the amounts on a ledger then throw away the tape and put the cash in a money bag and go home. this particular night I opened the bag at home and found a wadded up roll of cash register tape. After a panic stricken drive back to the shop I found $1700 in the garbage can.

I don’t have those kind of problems. I’ve got a great memory.

    It’s just really short.

Once back in college, I lost my roommates car after a long night out. Spent a couple hours looking for it before one of the guys helping look for it reminded me we took the bus that night so we wouldn’t have to drive home.

Put sheetrock ceiling in the garage and lost a hammer in the process. One year later after buying another hammer, I went up in the ceiling to do some wiring and found the original hammer. After I found it I remember that I left it up there. Too bad I couldn’t remember it right away.

One of our best pranks ever! We parked a guys car UNDER his deck. We drove him around town the next day looking for the bar he left his car at. It was a classic. As I remember it was about 4 o’clock before he found it. He was talking on the phone looking out the patio door. He looked down and said “there’s my —ing car!!” Had about 6 guys just rolling over that one.

I drove away from a Nebraska cornfield with my Weatherby on the top of my truck We were 20 miles away to the next hunting spot when I got out and my gun was not in the back of the truck, panic set in. I did manage to find my gun on the road side, thank God!

I was working on a carburator and a friend called so I answered it and took my glasses off and I always fold them and hang them on the neck of my t-shirt. I talked to him and then went back to the garage to work on the carburator again and I started looking for my glasses. I spent the next half hour looking for them, guess where they were, still hanging on the neck of my t-shirt right where I put them a half hour earlier,,,sheese!! I blame it on too many days in the garage and not enough days on the river.

Yesterday, working at a friends house doing minor fix ups before he sells it. Looked all over for a 4 inch needle nose Vise Grip. Couldn’t find it anywhere, including feeling in my pockets. Oh well, I’ll find it next time I’m there. Got home and discovered it had slipped in between the folds of my tri-fold wallet.

I forgot to close the side door behind me when I left for work one day, leaving it open. Unfortunately for me it was Michelle that found it first.

That’s pretty good… got a year off from the construction projects. Personally, I’m at the stage of things set down and 3 weeks later I start to wonder where I put it.

Ever tied your hook/jig on before putting your slip bobber or slip bobber knot on? Not a big deal when I was 30.. now I need alot of luck or cheaters to tie those little bastads.
