Drinking my coffee this morning and got an email about Rapala news. Reminded me of a story I read years ago. So had to look it up. I grew up in this town and Dad and I fished this same lake with the same rental boats from the farmer.
Many of my friends Dad’s worked in the shipyard. And I can remember riding my bike to the Sporting goods store and buying a bail screw for an old Mitchell reel. Parts were in little drawers on the wall. Good memories. Hope you enjoy.

My Dad and I had a week back in 1968 like that with red and white Daredevils on a lake up by McGregor. Suicidal pike, and they were huge!! Fishing out of an old Wards canoe with a Sears or Wards Ted Williams electric trolling motor! The first I had ever seen! We were pretty cool for about 5 days.
