the no-wake zone in Wabasha was extended to below the lower marina? Its my understanding that the owner of the lower marina is asking for this. That would the no wake zone about one mile.

I can see no justification for this change, unlike the area around the upper marina which has two sets of condos with docks, and Slipperys docks right on the channel the lower marina has none of that so why the request. What possibly could be their reasoning? This change would make the Wabasha area very unfriendly to all boaters.

Looks like there will be a public hearing on this on April 5th at 7:00PM at City Hall in Wabasha. Let’s all be there to voice our opinions This would be a nightmare especially during high flow periods

I personally think the no wake zones on all pools should only apply to craft over 22′ or 24′. The wake of a “fishing” boat does not even compare to that of a tuna boat that can barely plane out. Thats just my thought. -Mark

You must not watch the banks when the crusiers (and they don”t have to be 22 plus feet to cause damage) are plowing and all of the smaller craft also add up if you think its only the tows causing the problem your foolin youself, as far as extending the no wake my guess it’s the property owners along that stretch including the marina owner who are pushing for this don”t get me wrong i don”t like it either

I sure hope all you guys that use the river come to the meeting, this is the kind of thing that can spread very quickly to the pools you use. This is not just a Wabasha problem.

I think we should put tell mother nature that there is a no wake zone too. The presistant wave action from the wind does more damage than any amount of fishing boats. So I agree with Chuck
