Yes, we’re (the U.S) two steps away from bankrupcy! Many more cuts are needed and no sacred cows allowed. Just my two cents….
March 24, 2011 at 4:03 pm #950346Yes we do need to reduce our spending.
My fear is that some programs will get cut to deep and other special interest programs will go untouched.
Thats the issue I have with many of the cuts.

No, we NEED that
March 24, 2011 at 7:59 pm #950410How bout we cut those who choose not to work. How bout we cut those who get SSI but could work. Lets stop allowing drug and alcohol dependency and other excuses lead to SSI. There are jobs out there you just have to look which is what most people who get everything for nothing don’t do.
March 24, 2011 at 8:22 pm #950420When they start cutting veterans benefits, that’s when the can kiss my

This should be sacred.
March 24, 2011 at 10:42 pm #950453There is already a plan in Wisconsin to cut funding for Veterans benfits. I am mad as He!! about this. Benefits for Veterans is not that great now and they are going to make it worse. I know firsthand. My Step Father just passed away in Jan 8th. A decorated World War II vet. We could not even get help for him to make his last days more comforatble. My family did pitch in to make the best we could and allowed him to pass at home where he is loved. He was bed ridden for almost a year and half and nothing from our government was recieved, they just keeped making excuses. My sister made it her personal goal to get Government to help him by writing lots of letter, but still just more excuses. Very sad! At least he had the proper Military Funeral. I hope this country some day figures out How valuable these veterans are and starts doing something for them.
March 25, 2011 at 9:50 am #950531Yes, it is hard to hear but true, everything needs to be cut in some fashion for every level of government. That means some programs that people love are up for cuts.
With 14 trillion in debt at the federal level and almost every state government with similar issues, it just cannot go on.
To be honest, I am not sure our country is up for the task…
March 25, 2011 at 10:53 am #950542Seems politicians usually cut items we need, fire dept, police, roads, anything that gets the voters up in arms, then come back and say we “wanted” them items, and restore funding for them.
Personally I think half the politicians should be cut, that’d be a good start, then go after them “make votes” items that get added to the budget.
Reduce govt by 50% and you have a good start on reducing the deficit, stop spending money on saving the world, whether they want it or not, close the borders, that would help also.

You forgot school busing, that always goes first…
March 25, 2011 at 12:42 pm #950580I would pay the extra for the benefits for our Vets.
Many freedoms we now enjoy have been paid for in others blood and lives.
I truely feel we owe that much to our Vets.
I realize we all cannot have our special groupos but our Vets are that special.
I have studied many wars and what some soldiers did for this great country and it was beyond special. Every Vet has given their all for all of us at home.

I don’t know how to do a multi quote on this forum, SO
To all saying the same thing, I thank you. (I) We all earned what benefits we have. Didn’t win a lottery or anything even close. Most gave up the best years of their youth and trust me, Military service ages one fast.
So again, thanks for supporting us.
