Political posts…………….my decision

    First off thank you to the huge response to the thread I started yesterday. Many good views, both pro and con. Also I’m sure there were many, many more who read the thread but for whatever reason didn’t post a opinion. That’s cool.

    What we found out is James has no problem with a members only forum on politics. It would be self monitored or a free for all.

    As much as I would like to have this available I don’t have the time nor desire to be the owner / moderator of such a place. I do think there needs to be some guide lines and rules and somebody to enforce them or chaos will ensue. If anybody decides to start a forum I would jump in there (if invited ) to give my views and opinions.

    Regardless of if this happens or not I hope we can still debate BK on the importance of a new Vikings stadium. Some topics just “belong” in general discussion for the entertainment value!

    I don’t know how smart it is.

    Just got thinking……….how can anybody moderate a political forum or group? If you need to delete a post or set somebody into line you will be labeled a Republican or Democrat or maybe even a tree hugger.

    I think there is a place for honest discussions but as was mentioned some people just take a radical stand on any issue just to be a [censored] or start a fight.

    It was refreshing to see the amount of interest. Just wish the site had a counter type of thing so we could see how many people actually viewed the thread. Oh well

    Maybe every political party should start their own group. That way we can pat each other on the back.

    No need for anyone to setup a group just yet … I’m still busy trying to decide which posts from the “political question thread” were typical of a cowardly liberal and which were indicative of a heartless conservative.

    Set one group up for Democrats, one for Republicans and one for other? No matter how it is set up someone is sure to get offended.
