since we are on this subject find me an american made hat that costs 6 bucks! i am not rich and i would rather give a client a 6 buck hat than a 12 buck hat that are the same.money made guiding is hard enough, i would be basically doubling my advertising budjet

Increase your guide fee $6.00/client(hat) and explain, you paid me $6 more, because I only buy American Made Hats…. I don’t know about most people, but I would be telling all my buddies about the cool guide I used, who truely cares about this country

some one questioned my post about Kohler.. well it happened.. it just didnt’ happen last week.. It happened , 20 30 years ago… Kohler opened a Kentucky plant.. and ran it for two years.. and shut it down in like a month.. saying that the work ethic, and quality was not of that in Wisconsin..

so while it didn’t happen recently IT DID HAPPEN..

Hey you want ” La Crosse Boots”?.. well when the Union was strong.. La Crosse boots were made in LaCrosse.. once the union was broken.. back in like 1980.. or so, that was the start of the end..

and now, footware is a half empty building.. and there is NO LA CROSSE, left of LaCrosse boots.. nothing.. they moved the HQ to like Seattle.. and all the boots come from over seas.. ALL OF THEM..

but they needed to break the union first, to allow the plant to “restructure”… and for about three years, on paper it all looked great.. then they bought Red Ball, I believe, and the rest is History..

Here is an interesting one,25 hp E-tec.Label said Sturtevant,WI and assembled in China!WTF?Sounds like what Mercury did with some of their smaller motors.

I also could not find any USA made boots, all brands said made in Chickity-China.Danner in particular .A lot of USA companies sold-out,so I really have no problem buying stuff like Yamaha or Honda.True, they are Japanese-owned companies that brought work over here.

A lot of items”made” in USA still have imported components used.Stuff that could be manufactured here.

Great post! My husband and I have been focused on buying USA made products for years now. It’s not always easy and sometimes you have no choice or you must go without, but if there’s a USA made option we’ll take it! We try to encourage our friends to join our efforts, but it seems many people just don’t care about where their stuff is made, or even care about eating China made food! Yuck! No thank you!

Oh, it read to me as if it was something recent, not 20 or 30 years ago. Sounds like they are not so concerned about the great work ethic in WI anymore. Thanks for the info.
