When do you re-spool your braided line? Do you base the change on time or condition?

    Thanks for your input.

I use it a year and then reverse it on the spool for another year

Depending on condition, I also try to salvage as much as possible for tying leaders etc.

I’ve got a spool that has had the same braid for 4 years now. Of course, results may vary. For instance, if unlike me you are actually catching fish, you might have a little more wear.

Spray it with Reel Magic and allowing the line to dry will greatly extend the life. I reverse it only based on condition.

Depends on the brand I am using.

Suffix, I try to get 3 years out of on my cat rod. If after the second season and I have had no issues with it, then one more season. Yes I do reverse it after one season.
