What did they bring back today? A muskrat?

I like how the parents seem very careful to give them both about the same amount of food. I actually saw her maneuver to the side to get at the other chick.

I hope when #3 hatches she isn’t so far behind that she doesn’t make it.

I thought my wife said that they “the school watching it in class” called it a “Sloth”, I don’t know as I have yet to see the live camera yet tonight.

Depending on if it was a 2 toed or 4 toed, that is quite a hunting range.

Come on #3 be born. You brother and sister will be off making chicks of their own before you can fly!

Well, they are slow. Maybe they started migrating hundereds of years ago and are just arriving in Iowa now?

Alcoa in Davenport , Ia has an Eagle cam too ! Had 2 chicks but one didn’t make it. I just can’t beleive the amount of food they are stocking up ! First there was a large pike, then a duck…now just in the past day there are about 6 ducks total in the “pantry”

Whats the link? I bet Michelle will have both open 24/7 on her computer when I tell her.

This nest has a pretty good cache going too. Anyone know what kind of fish they had today? I didn’t see it, but someone said a sheepshead.

I get a kick out of one of the chicks today. It keeps trying to get out from under mom and she keeps tucking the chick back in.

Let me out mom, I want to cruise around the nest and see the world.

They panned down to the ‘pantry’ earlier today. Looks like a sucker and a couple trout. As well as squirrel, muskrat, crow and rabbit.

    No veggies…..that’s bad parenting….

Yeah…that stream below the nest should keep them good to go for quite a while.

Hi Blue I am not positive but it looked like a fresh one tonight. They Just started pulling it apart while I was watching. It was on the far side of the nest. The body shape and color looked right, but I could be wrong. Fun to watch anyhow.

Here is an email I got from my sister inlaw about the eagles.

    Quote:

So did you hear the story about the eagles we have been watching? One of my coworker’s sons was watching it one day and the adult eagle brought back to the nest a KITTEN!! It even had a collar on it and everything and of course it was the birds’ meal. And so the people in charge of this camear blanked out the screen and put something that said something like “due to the graphic nature of the content, the picture has been blocked”. Glad I missed that!

Hmm. Michelle watches the dang things in Decorah dang near 24/7. I asked her and she never saw it. It was either a different eagle cam or a joke.

I think I found the answer.

I ask again, anyone witnessed them shooting their poo over the nest?

My Son and I have seen that. He looked at me and asked “what was that Dad!??!!?” I just replied “Fire in the hole!”

First time I saw it, it took a few seconds to register what had happened, just because it happened so fast and I wasn’t expecting it.

We have had it on for the durration the last couple of months. Rather tidy and caring birds I must say.

There times you would say ahhhhh that’s cute, and other times you would would say euw or duck!

Been wonderful watching them grow again this season. Watched them the last couple of years but this year with the new computer has made it a whole lot easet to see!
