Yikes. I know it’s early to predict. But if we get anything close to what Douglas is saying, the flooding is going to be unreal.

I’ll remain in complete denial until the shovel is in my hand. I can’t even imagine what the rivers would do with another 30 – 50 inches of snow on top of what we already have.

    Nope, not going to happen.

I live in the 500 year flood plain of the St Croix. Think I could get flood insurance this year?

I’m I wrong here or don’t they get everyone worked up every spring over floods? I hope this is just another forecast we can all add to the never ending list of forecasts that are WAY off.

On the other hand how many people are standing on their roofs with their hand out every late spring asking for assistance and crying that they lost everything and don’t have flood insurance?

While floods do tend to be sensationalized. I’m blown away at people who live in the flood plain and have already gone through a flood and they aren’t prepared.

You guys who think this is media terrorism, maybe you can go sit on the banks and report in how the story was over blown.
Sorry, a bit harsh? I just can’t see how people can look at where we are sitting with the snow pack and last falls rain and think this is being over blown.

Did you read the comments after the report? “Goof on the Roof”, that is frickin hilarious!

    I liked this one.

Again, if they predict the floods like they predict the weather we are either in for a world of hurt or we got nothing to worry about. It’s all up to Ma nature and sometimes she’s a bit harsh and other times she’s a bit nice. I leave up to her to decide

That’s why we need a retractable roof for stadium parking lots, but no, Brian doesn’t want to spend tax money on that! Oh, but allocate some tax money for a Catfish museum and he is all for it.

Don’t forget the bike trails along catfish rivers and over catfish passageways!

The flood predictions out of the NWS are typically right on. Douglas and other heads in the TC market are just passing those predictions on. I fully expect this year to be a doosy.

Is this guy usually spot on with his predictions? He’s still predicting my area to get hammered with snow. Granted, this system is still along ways out and could turn into another bust.(which I’m hoping)

No forecasters are spot on this tome of year, especially 3 days or more out on a forecast.

Love the smell of sarcasm. SOOOOO refreshing…..

Guess I’ll pray the system runs south and we don’t get the 6+ inches our weather guy is forecasting for us down here.

Talking to me? Got Pug on the brain?

Looking at the NWS it looks like the heavy stuff is just going to nick the extreme SE part of Minnesota.

LOL, good call Paul! Looks like he updated his hysteria in his blog of you click the original link in the first post.

I also see 50 degree highs 2 times in the 15 day outlook from Accuweather….for what it is worth.

Snow here all this aft but everything melted.

We need no more rain for those already in harms way.

The big snow in the next few days WILL be way south of here.

I have a good friend that lives in Henderson and after the near record floods last fall, they do not need another that could break the 1965 record.
