That is not a bad neighborhood for St Paul. At least no gang ridden like south mpls. But like anywhere else, you hope for good neighbors!

I’ve fished on beaver lake a handful of times, just to be outside, and its pretty quiet and the houses well kept around there.

Ahh, the old E-side. Grew up there, back in the day a typical middle to upper middle class area, lots of M’ers (3M) and trade families. The lower E-side riff raff has progressed east, including this area a bit. I would pay much attention to the specifc neigborhood and neighbors, pull police reports and such. There are blocks of very good areas here, and also areas that I would not like to live in anymore. A step up from Payne Phalen for sure, but not quite what you see in Elmo, Oakdale, Woodbury and such. I generalize so there are exceptions!

I live up the street not even kinding like 2 blocks on 7th street just beyond the apartments!!!! I have had a break in my truck while i left it in the alley way over night, but thats the only issue!!! Cant complain a bit i have lived here over a year and a half and one break in isnt bad compared to when i lived in south mpls which one happened every week!!! But theres nothing to worry about great place to live and nice area, lots to do around here and a ton of lakes to fish
