    Quit or die trying!

I believe that was Sliderfishing…although I don’t recall if he chewed or smoked. Either way Ron is an inspiration to many.

Went through that some 20 years ago. I smoked and decided to replace that with chew. Hardest thing i ever did was quit the snoose. You should be applauded for your will power. Congatulations!

The link is stretching out the page and the FW has her Friday night shoes on so I will fix the link later.

    First off, CONGRATULATIONS

I really can’t beleive I have not smoked a cig in over three years , time sure flies.

I did nothing, each and every quitter had their own personal battle. If you want to thank someone look in the mirror, that is who you need to thank.

I still crave one every once and awhile, TILL I see the price that they get for a pack now.

I am proud of all of you!
When you roll over 60 and see so many friends have cancers or die related to smoking/chewing…. it really is sad.

Congratulations. 8 months ago, I went from ths basement rec room to kitchen cupboard with intentilons of getting a pack of cigarets. I opened it up and pulled a cig out and something in my head said what the hell are you doing. I havent had one since, and havent wanted one. Feel much better also’ and proud of what I did.

Great choice, glad you didn’t wait (like I did) till you’re laying in a CCU with needles sticking in your arms and a oxygen mask on your face to quit. That was nearly 15 yrs ago.- -jerr

That’s exactly one reason why I stopped. One day my dad was staying at our house, he got up early and was really crabby with everyone especially me so I snapped back at him and left for work. A few hours later I get a call from my wife saying that my dad had a heart attack while at our house. The first thing I thought of was our stupid fight that morning and felt like a royal
I get to the hospital and find that he is fine after surgery. While I am sitting in his room the doctor comes in to check on him and after talking to my dad, the doctor turns to me and says that I now have history of family heart disease. To which I replied while looking at my dad, “Oh that’s great, why couldn’t you just leave me your boat, truck, house or heck even just some more debt”.
That broke that tension that was in the room.

Second reason was my kids, they asked me to stop one to many times. I’m sure mom put them up to it
