Started raining here 30 min ago 
and we have a nice thick coating of ice

Thank god BK is on ramp and driveway duty today, that reminds me I need to unthaw last weeks donuts for when he finished

Really scary to think BrianK & Everts is probably more ready then MnDot.
Everybody down there stay safe. The older we get the more the ice “hits back” when we slip and fall.

….only because the professional “meteorologists” prophesied such doom and gloom. Half inch of freezing rain, 15″ of snow….thunder….sleet, toads & locusts……cats & dogs living together…. the kind of hype that got me leaping from the bed this morning, springing to the window like an 8yr old on x-mas morning. Only to find out Santa forgot where I lived. Oh well, such is life.
Good luck on your journey south. Drive safe, and watch out for the guy tailgating you…..he’ll never see that crater sized pothole you subtly swerved to avoid.

February 20, 2011 at 2:57 pm #939445We just had lightning and thunder freezing rain here in NE Iowa, can’t even see out the east window because of ice covering it. Also at 8:00 this morning it came across the scanner that a dog food plant west of Oelwein was hit by lightning, there was an explosion, and part of the building was gone. 6 people were working and everyone was accounted for.
