So I have a lowrance expedition that I can’t get connected to satellites. It shows that its searching and the bars move up and down but never connects. Probably only 4-5 years old. Called lowrance or whatever they call themselves now and spoke to a gentleman there. Had one thing I could try so turned waas off still didnt connect. Didnt seem like he cared that much though. The only other option was to send it in for a flat rate of 150 bucks and 13 for shipping. Wouldve liked if he at least pretended to give a crap. So my question is.. is there anyone else that you guys know that might have an answer for me?? Thanks for any ideas they’re appreciated!!

My H2Oc is getting up there in age also it doesn’t pick up my location like it used to. I always have to go into GPS setup after hitting menu twice. Then go to initialize GPS and move the crosshairs near your location and press enter. This is about the only way to get my location. Ive dropped it quite a few times so im not suprised. Try that out hope it helps. I also give Lowrance customer service a 1 out of 10. The 1 is for answering the phone.

I have an older H2OC with the same problem. I contacted Lowrance and they were extremely helpful in trying all my options before deciding to send in. The guy actually gave me a direct number to him and asked I call him back within a couple days and let him know if I had any luck.

After trying everything imaginable, outcome is that it will have to be sent in. I haven’t done this yet being as I had another H2OC as back up, but probably will do so soon being as my opinion is the H2OC’s are hard to beat.

    Good luck.

Well there are updates done on the handheld GPS that sometimes require you to download onto a chip and load into the GPS, otherwise a hard restart should clear the GPS (warning this will also clear all waypoints) and give it a fresh start.

Lowrance Product Upgrades Looks like the last update for teh Expedition was in 2006, best way to check is menu, system software. that software should read 1.1 otherwise you may need to do an update.

    Any further questions fire away.

Hey brandon I actually was messing around with it and tried the crosshair thing but no luck. I might try to call lowrance back and talk to someone else.

Thanks mike sounds like you got lucky but like I said ill probably try it again.

Calvin thanks for the info will try and do the hard start hate to lose all my waypoints but not much are worth anything anyhow!! lol Sounds like I better start writing them down….

You can always back the waypoints up prior to hard restart.

try going into the “gps setup” menu and perform “gps auto search” every time you turn it on. i had and expedition pro that would only lock on when i did this. i myself wouldn’t send it in to lowrance. after my screen went black i tried to get it sent in for service but since it was a legacy product they were basically like “why are you bothering us”. there’s no gaurantee that their fix will last either and you’ll be out 150 bucks. might last a month, might last 10 years.
