I’m adding a bedroom in the basement. I need to put in a return air. Can I put a “t” in the return line that is going to the basement family room and drop one into the bedroom? Or does each return air line need to be individually run to the return air trunk line???

    Thanks!

Why do you need a return air in every room?

Other than kitchens and bathroom a good rule of thumb is air in, air out, works just about all the time.

Maybe add a damper style register to the feed line to help control temps.

Basement cold air returns in the summer help get the cooler basement air to the upper floors.
