Our justice system isn’t completely broken…Hecker just got 10 years in the slammer. That’s gonna put a damper on his ability to sponsor any more bass tourneys.

    Hmmmm.

Why does part of me feel remorse for the guy? I mean, he knew what he was doing wrong, and he had to know he would spend time right? I don’t know. Family, kids, his age. Maybe I’m an idiot.

I know what you mean. I feel a little the same way too but he must pay or more people will do it.

    Seriously?????????

This guy defrauded people out of over $700 million. He wasted how many thousands of dollars of tax payers money in the prosecution. We will pay nearly a million to house this clown for the next 10 years.

And you feel sorry for him?????????

Time for him to pay the piper.

Sorry man. There’s something about an old(er) man in the clink. Maybe it’s that I feel sad for his family and not him?

He did sponsor fishing tourney’s. This was probably a way to hide or scam the fed. gov.

10 years. In Duluth, MN federal lockup. Probably do 3. And he is far from dumb and there’s a hell of a lot of money not accounted for.

For the record, he plead guilty. There was no trial.

You have a lot more reading to do on the case.

Crooks belong in jail… that’s what he is He didn’t “sponsor” anything… he gave other peoples money away yeah, but in order for him to sponsor something, it would of had to have been his to give…

I heard he will have to do 85% of his sentence because it was a Federal crime. I think he diserves more and I also think he has alot of that money hidden for when he gets out.

It makes you wonder what part of the Gov’t is in on this. Millions of dollars generate revenue tax dollars for the Gov’t. How can someone steal millions to get a slap on the hand. Makes you think? Deals are cracked with the Lawyers, who knows maybe even with the Gov’t, too.

That’s just it… besides the $700 Million, I constantly still see ex-employees of his, looking for work. His crime is far reaching and will be felt by alot for some time to come.

I think you nailed it. Seeing his pic brings out an instinctual response against harming old poeple and kids. But, he definitely deserves what he got and more considering what he did.

Jon, guilty or not the trustee is billing at a huge rate per hour. Maybe the money is only coming from what they recovered, but it still is a huge sum being spent trying to tract the money.

    I read plenty.

I’d explain it to you but it seems you are having a bad day so today isn’t the day.

I know exactly what he did… knew it for years, my boss was saying it for years… most in the business knew what he was doing. Chrysler got so far into bed with the man, they couldn’t kick him out for fear of exactly what happened… when Chrysler started to unravel… they put a call on him, that pulled his loose string… (not a year before his empire crashed, Chrysler “gave” him the Buffalo store…. he closed it down, sold everything on K-bid, found a home for the money and people still were out of jobs) he didn’t care about anybody but Denny… ask his ex-wive’s….

That may all be true, G. However not illegal. He has no obligation to keep people employed.

I wasn’t speaking of legalities…. I was speaking of his character, of which he has none. What I am saying is, if people need to feel sorry for someone, then feel sorry for all those left in his wake…. old and young alike. The turd belongs in jail for more than 10 years.

I overheard a guy at Scoreboard talking about this last year. He worked with the guy and I know it is hearsay and 3rd hand, but he (Fecker) knew exactly what he was doing. The only thing I am sorry for is he is not riding a longer sentence.

Maybe he should be committed to a mental hospital after he serves, since he seems pretty delusional.

Also, again…2nd hand…. his closest allies and finance managers, were belly laughing about how he was supposedly buying the Vikings a few years ago… He loved to project his “bigger than life” image.. wherever he could sad part is, alot of people & media sucked it up…
