It’s my turn to pick the restaurant for our anniversary and I’m looking for a new favorite.
We are located in Anoka, but we are willing to drive up to an hour away.
Let me know the name, location, and your recommendations.
Thanks

Haven’t been there in a bit, but for special occasions, it’d be Jax over nordeast.

A little drive for you but can’t beat the Hubbell House in Mantorville, Mn
Depends on what you’re looking for… If you’re looking for a more upscale place I’d vote for Seven. Great steaks and also best sushi in town.
If you’re looking for a more laid back place I’d say Lindey’s steak house in Arden Hills has quite possibly the best steaks in town but is just a tiny little old-fashioned restaurant.

Drunk or Sober? Cause…..There is a difference!
Maybe what you want to spend also??
There’s always Murrays downtown.

For that special occasion, I’ve always been partial to the Matterhorn Room at the Lowell Inn downtown stillwater.
The swiss Fondue is a completely different dinning experience and if you like Wine (and alot of it) this is the place. You Fondue your own dinner at your table. If you like Escargo, make sure you try there’s. Menu of Matterhorns below.

Happy Aniversary
If you arent planning on and physical activity later , I would recommend Fogo de Chao.
For great italian, La Grolla in St Paul
Axels and Axel’s Bonfire are always good too for American or Southwestern American fare.
Tbox is a good one over in Ham Lake. It is a small place on HWY 65 but they do have a real chef in the kitchen. You can see there menu on line.
Ruth Chris Steakhouse. Best steak in town, ask for the round table booth as there is only three of them. Great everything there.
Birch’s
1935 West Wayzata Blvd
Long Lake, MN 55356

Alma on University Ave. between Central and 35W. James Beard award winning chef and absolutely amazing food.
112 Eatery on 3rd downtown Minneapolis.
Porterhouse in Little Canada. It’s off 35E and Little Canada Road. Great steaks and a very loyal customer base. My wife and I go there every chance we get. Oh and get the carrot cake even if it’s to go.
Anoka?
There is only one good answer, Serum’s for the wings!
I usually try to avoid the fancy places, but I would recommend Jax, Fogo de Chao, or Murrays.
Mancini’s in St.Paul off of west 7th………… Cool atmosphere & also great food, their known for their steaks as well.
Lowell’s Inn in Stillwater also has a excellant lunch menu in the Washington room. Entree is served with a seasoned mash potato and vegetable with a sauce. No french fries or baked. The pistachio crusted walleye was excellant. Actually preferred their lunch menu to the dinner menu altough that was good also. Lunch is really reasonable for a nice dining experience.
I have been to most of the steak houses in the metro area, and my favorite would be Manny’s. They have great seafood as well as steaks. A close second would be Ruth’s Chris. If I were headed to St. Paul my favorite is Kincaids, and Mancini’s second.
If your looking for a steakhouse I love Giannis in Wayzata. very expensive, alacarte 2 entrees, sides, salad a decent bottle of wine $150.00 plus.

this place is the mcdonalds of premium steakhouses. plenty of much better steakhouses in the twin cities.
Go all out and hit up Mannys and then go to Prohibition at the W hotel on the 27th floor for a last call cocktail. It is Foshay’s old office and it is an amazing place for a special occasion. Do it. Its all in the same building. You will be thankful you did. Trust.

The melting pot in downtown mpls is the same thing but closer for you, you fondue like a 4 course meal, real spendy but worth it trust me it never fails to leave you with a happy ending to the night if you know what i mean
The Strip Club in St. Paul has great food also. 1st choice is still Ruth Chris, they have the best butter steak!
