Circle Hooks – Ice Fishing

    I’ve been missing a lot of fish on my slip float rig lately. Has anyone tried circle hooks for ice fishing? I have no experience with them, so I’m not sure if my hooking percentage would go up or not.

    for circle hooks to work the fish has to take the whole hook in its mouth and in my experience they dont really work with short biting/less agressive fish. i use them in the summer for bulleads with oversized bobbers.

    If you are fishing crappies or perch try a size 16 treble hook.

    For northern imo they are dang hard to beat!
