Any members – pros and cons of Direct Buy. Is it worth the price?

Build 2 houses, then it is worth it.

For one, find a good GC and ride his discounts.

Had a friend check it out and he said you would have to furnish a complete house to come out ahead at all. Very high fees to join and not that good of price breaks, better off getting good sales.

Do an internet search on reviews. I’ll give you a hint… they’re not good.

Had a brother inlaw join and now is commited to go through
DB because the HIGH $$$$ to join. It will work if you have a major remodel job to do or rental property to remodel. Shop around.

X2 – I couldn’t agree more with this. I get better pricing from most of my vendors, than you can get at a “sale or discounted” box / club store. I also can get MUCH higher quality goods for my clients at the lessor prices. A great GC, should be pro-actively finding you ways to get more out of your money.

I had looked into it before I started a major remodel. Seemed like a high pressure sales pitch similar to a time share approach. They continued to tell us how much we save, but with no information on percentages, and they would not tell us teh membership fees until we committed to the entire sales meeting.

We decided to walk away without anything. I would suggest you do the same

Reminds me of a guy that was trying to sell us replacement windows flouting the “advertiser discount” he would give us if we agreed. We refused to tell us how much the discount was, though. I told him to take a hike and got better windows put in for about a third of his price…and we aren’t being used as an advertisement
