The Wife and I are planning to go to central Florida in May I’d like to go to the Kissimmie Chain of Lakes area has anyone ever fished Toho or the surrounding? Any Suggestions or Recommendations of a fish Camp or preferred lake or area. Thanks for any input Glenn.

there were a number of live bait guides in the Ocala area.. I just don’t know them now.. what you want to do is call a couple of bait shops there or in Dunnelon..

I heard that the cost of golden shiners can be in the $100 a dozen.. it cost me $60 for one pound shiners back in the 90’s.. again.. I wish I could be more help.. I will tell you this.. when I was with Buck Bray.. I bought 4 dozen shiners and then we caught another 2 dozen.. and my 10 lber came from the first spot that we started at.. and it was like 300 yards from the boat launch that we used..

it was great.. some what business like.. he cut costs any way he could , like driving to the nearest boat launch to his fishing area.. so don’t be surprised..

most guides will do what you want them to do.. if you want to fish live bait half the day , they will do that..

I will tell you that I declined to do that.. and stayed with shiner fishing all day.. and on THE LAST SHINER OF THE DAY.. I stuck that fish..

I would try and find a bait shop using the yellow pages.. or what ever for Florida..

    I wish you well.
