Dresbach Dam

    In two weeks I’m lookin to get my friend down to the dam on wonderful pool 8 to catch his first ever eye! Never ice fished there so jw how the ice is and so on. Also wonderin what the ice is like now? Thanks guys

    The ice is good enough to hold about 15-20 people up at the short wall.

    When you drive over the river and look at the dam and see open water it’s probably a good indication that it’s not too safe. I would stick to the area in the bay and by the long wall. More snow on its way so that will not help out in front of the dam with all the current.

    The high water really has messed things up this year for sure….
    Maybe the south landing??

    You can’t even get all the way up to the shortwall, it is open along the short wall. There are guys fishing around the bull nose of the short wall and all around the long wall, but the ice looks sketchy at best. My guess is they’re probably on about 8″ of white ice and its very jagged once you get out past the long wall. If you fish the break from the bay out to the channel edge at peak feeding periods you should be able to hook a few short eyes and a few decent fish as well.

    You care to make a wager on that?

    I have no idea how much or what the ice is like up there, but there were plenty of people up there today.

    hm, i was out on the ice today and they were out to the short wall but part of the flat that people normally fish was actually open and it appeared that they were fishing a bit further south than usual. I did see two guys that were just a hair past the bull nose of the short wall but they were fishing close to open water.

    same here. probably around 3 after school is done. Not sure but probably will just fish outside of the crowds?
