Is this legal??!! I had my new Marcum 625SD camera up on Mille Lacs for a few days of fishing, the picture quality was so good we decided to disconnect the satellite dish and hook it directly to the flat screen TV. It was flat-out impressive! During the day we could see all 6 baits spread out below the house in 25 feet of water. It was a blast to watch, we’re going to try it out on a VERY clear water lake next week for trout fishing. I’ll post some better pix after that trip

…if you knew a fish was looking right at your bait would you pick up your camera or fishing rod?

Overall bite was slow but definitely the most fun I’ve had watching walleyes that wont bite

We did get a few, biggest was about 24″

How close did the walleyes come to the camera, Ive been told walleyes are very camera shy.

I do much better for walleyes without the camera. Perch dont seem to mind!

Bigger walleyes stayed back some, smaller eyes didnt seem to mind and the perch didnt care at all. Being able to set the camera 10+ft back from the bait really helped too. I kept the camera light off most of the time to keep a lower profile down there also.

Awesome pics! those cameras are incredible aren’t they!? Like you mentioned, in a lake trout lake with 20 even 30 feet of visibility, these will be unreal!

Mark, What does the arrow on the screen represent? I’m looking at possibly getting the same unit and haven’t found anyone around here with one yet to check out.

    I think it’s past Mark’s bedtime Randy.

The arrow is the direction the camera is pointing.

The arrow is the direction of the camera in perspective to the screen, as I know it anyway.

The nice part about this is that the direction indicator gives a true bearing, not just a reference point. There’s a compass in the camera head and the viewing screen so if the camera is pointing north the arrow will point north on the monitor AND if you turn the monitor the arrow will adjust on the screen to keep pointing north. Makes it very easy to find your bait

For $10 more per month you can add the fish channel.
