Since I have upgraded my computer to windows 7 my gps will not recognize the sd card i put into my hand held gps. Is there any way I can get around this? I use lakemaster to manage my waypoints. I use the contour pro software on my computer pick out spots and transfer in the usr format, but like i said the gps wont recognize the sd card.

Have you used this same SD in your GPS previously?

    Is the card too big?

I believe the format needs to be in a .usr format for your gps to read the chip. So when saving coordinates off contour pro make sure they are saved in a .usr format on your computer.

Not that I can help, I just wanted to put it out there that many GPS brands, namely Garmin from my experience, call out all over the place that windows 7 is not supported. Heck, windows 7 on my wife’s PC will not work with any of the printers in our house and even the printer manufacturers call out that they do not work with windows 7.

    I am never upgrading

Bingo! Tried an old 32MB card and it worked liked a champ. I knew that too. I guess I disreguared it because actually I have a map and music ifinder and it plays mp3’s on the bigger chip. Also the bigger navionics chip works find for reading lakes, but apparently the usr data files play by their own rules. Either way im back in business. Thanks for your help. May your lines be tight and your co-workers be tight lipped!
