Yep , whether it was a GB tie, a Harley T Shirt, or even a Bears tie, if the boss tells you it is inappropriate, it is. And if you “choose” to ignore, that’s insubordination. That just makes you out of a job and even dumber…

Sounds to me that the Boss Man is a poor sport. By reading some of the posts I don’t think he is the only one.

Because everyone is saying he should have been canned just for being a Packer fan…which he should of.

Not everybody in the world, looks through green tinted glasses either…

His boss openly admits, they do advertisements with the Bears… and I would agree, if the boss says it’s ok, then it is. Pretty simple case of somebody fawning for his 15 minutes….

Why is the G in your name green? Everything is going to be OK. I will not tell anybody.

It makes no never mind who wears what regarding which team….as long as you are at home or on your own time. Its when the man who signs your check says don’t do this while at work that things change.

I think G has it covered nicely. Wearing that tie in Chicago that day probably was dumbest thing in the world to do. And with work at a premium, not taking off a tie that maybe would affect business re-inforces just how dumb the stunt was.

Do you think McDonalds let’s you wear GB ties ??? Why should this car dealer let some a-hole (who knew exactly what he was doing & if you don’t believe it, your naive) hurt his business ??? He was told twice, to remove it.. he didn’t.. oh poor guy…. What kind of “spin” is that ??? Problem is, some society, makes these a-holes out to be heros.. if he wants to be a hero, he should enlist. Yeah, he didn’t want the attention….. and Japan didn’t mean to bomb Pearl Harbor either…. just proves he is an idiot.

I would assume McDonalds has a dresscode….This car lot probably doesnt…

I bet if the Bears would have won and he wore a Bears tie that wouldn’t have happened. Sounds to me that the Boss Man is a poor sport. By reading some of the posts I don’t think he is the only one.

i’m assuming there is a common sense dress code. if i sold cars in a town that was made up of 90% vegans and one of my sales guys came to work with a “i heart meat” shirt on i’d tell him to take it off.

If you haven’t noticed..McDonalds has uniforms…. try wearing “what you want” there…. You’d be FIRED before your 1st batch of fries were done. And they are pushing burgers…

You see, that’s a uniform and I bet nobody was told not to wear them by the manager…. it’s all about “in context”(talk about putting a spin on it here) let me paint you the picture… all are in their Mickey D uniforms, except one joker with the Chicago Bears Jersey, now also mind you, “pretend” your beloved pack lost sunday… ??? If you compare buying a burger with buying a car, then I can’t help you understand…

Let’s try to remember, you are talking with Packer fans. If it has green and yellow in it, they instantly become blinded to logic and reason.

Common sense would dictate that you are trying to sell widgets to a person who is a Bears fan, you would also be a Bears fan. A salesman needs to find a common ground with a customer, and to flaunt a win the day after is just stupid. This guy not only deserved to get canned, but he also needs to be flogged for being the worlds dumbest salesman.

Why do I guess this is not the only thing this salesman and manager did not agree on

If I were looking to buy a car what the salesman or woman was wearing would have no influence on my decision to buy there car. I saw the guy on tv wearing the tie I din’t think it was bad at all. I would even buy a car from a guy wearing a queens jersey if the deal was right. He was asked to take it off and should have.

You wouldn’t even talk to the salesman in the “queens” jersey, you just proved it by showing your lack of respect for anything VIKINGS…. better go to confession this weekend..

And the most undeserving length of a thread on IDO for 2011 is…

    This one.

    It’s early….. I predict a longer one in less than 2 weeks.

The title of this thread should also be: “Idiot loses job, proving he deserves his title… Idiot”

And if IL is an “at-will” state, not only is the boss right, but well within his legal right… I like the G … In a small unnoticeable kind of way, Thanks for thinking of us!!!
