After the initial response you get from craigslist it will be open air communication and your contact info(email) will be visible on the other side.
January 21, 2011 at 2:24 pm #928720FYI – I created a hotmail account just for using on Craigslist. For whatever reason, I get so much junk mail whenever I list anything on there. That way, I can just delete anything in that account after the sale is done.

Craigslist does generate alot of spam. Good idea about the seperate e-mail just for Craigslist.
January 21, 2011 at 4:07 pm #928791I state in my adds that I do not reply to e-mails. Phone calls only.
It will eliminate alot of BS.
January 21, 2011 at 8:17 pm #928903Thank you for all your input and i might just go with a phone number cause you do get a lot of bs from people
January 21, 2011 at 9:03 pm #928930Another tip…………have them meet you in a very public place. Parking lot of the grocery store, busy c-store, right on main street.
As much as we would like to believe everybody is good, alot of people aren’t. You don’t want them knowing where you live. A little $10 sale you make may lead to your home being robbed. Sad, but true. Oh, cash talks, checks are just worthless paper.
January 21, 2011 at 9:23 pm #928944Craigslist is good but it also generates a lot of scams. Deal in cash only! The Nigerian scams are running rampant on Craigslist. I am amazed at how gullible people are when dealing with Craigslist. How many times have you “accidentally” sent someone too much money by like $1000??? If this happens to you it is a SCAM. If the person tells you to Western Union you the difference, it’s a SCAM. The most recent scam that I am seeing right now is that they send you an official looking Paypal payment which is also a scam that is really hooking a lot of people. Be cautious!

Also sold a used light pole and a older used car. I think the car sold from for sale sign in car window Meeting someone in parking lot or public place is good idea if you would otherwise bring them into your home but running boat or other item somewhere to avoid them coming to our home is a lot of work. Have you been scammed by a voyeur? Cash is King but there needs to be some faith in fellow man.

My guys have recovered about $10,000 in jewelry in about the past month due to a current craigslist scam that I explained. The people didn’t even know they were scammed until we called them to tell them we recovered their property. They too had “faith” but fortunately for them they had someone else looking out for them named “reality”. I stand by what I said.
