Looking to put a heater in my garage. What would work best for a 26×36 area, will see occational use, when I need to get out of the house.
Thinking about an old electric heater from a furnace or portable propane unit.
Garage has insulated walls but the roof isn’t done yet.
    Thanks for your input.

I have a pot belly stove in mine which works good but it takes a while to warm up. When I don’t have time to let it warm up and I have things to do I use the reddy heater. Reddy heater heats it up really fast. I would like to get an L.B. White.

This is what I have and it works great for my 32x48x9 shed. Keeps it nice and toasty.

Have a 26×36 also and heat it nicely with a 75K BTU hanging furnace. Personally, if I had to do it again and couldn’t put in-floor heat in, I would put a regular house furnace and run the duct work right above the garage doors.

i also have a gas modine heater. costs me about 30-40 bucks a month to heat my garage. I maintain it at 45 degrees, and will turn it up to 70 or so when working on anything in there.

walls and ceiling are insulated, and solid garage doors. my garage 2.5 wide and 30 ft deep.

If you intend to heat it for days or weeks at a time insulate the ceiling first. Vented systems are superior.
Otherwise moisture will be an issue. But you can get by to work on stuff occasionally with non-vented. I started out with a torpedo heater long ago. It got the job done but was far from ideal.
