Glad to hear they resigned him. It’s nice to see one of the truely great guys stay with the club. It sure would be nice if he can have another year like last season!!!

Good job Twins and thanks to Thome for sticking around! Hopefully he can hit another 20 homeruns and 2 triples. Gotta love watching him “sprint” for that triple!!

Glad to see he stuck around. I liked his attitude, he came to the park and did his job and seemed to be having fun doing it. I think Gardy did a great job managing to Thome’s strength and not over or under utilizing him.

Probably the best they could do. They really needed a right handed Thome-clone in the worst way.

“The Twins announced Friday that they have agreed to terms on a one-year contact with Thome. The designated hitter’s deal is worth $3 million and includes performance bonuses based on plate appearances.”

If #600 is meant to be I hope it happens at home. He was a lot of fun to watch this past season.

After hating someone for so many years it was a little tough getting him. Hard not to root for a blue collar guy like him. Bring on the records.

x2 I just hope he is able to play every day so he can keep that bat going. that was the key to last year.

Glad to see “Gentleman Jim” back in a twins uni again this year. I went to three games last year sporting his 25 jersey and had the privilege of seeing him hit 5 HR.

And I bet he’ll pick up a bunch of stolen bases with his speed.

    Glad to keep him around!

I agree. The Twins are absolutely loaded on the left side, but hurting on the right. I love that Thome is staying, but his role is (unfortunately) Mourneau insurance. Nevertheless I’m gonna enjoy the heck out of next season however it works out!
