I realize the newspapers, TV, Internet have to make money. But to plaster the name and photo of the pig who shot the 9 year old girl in Tucson is just plain wrong.

I don’t need to see him. I don’t ever need to know who he is. He doesn’t even exist in my world.

So, why do they need to plaster him all over where the other demented attention seeking a-holes get to see him get his 15 minutes of fame?

If we can’t afford the 25 cent gun shell, at least lock him up where we will never, ever see or hear of him again.

    I’m done now.

I’m not really sure you’re looking for an answer to your question…but…

Because people what to know what a person that would do something like this looks like. Even if it was only once.

I have no desire to see these people on tv, much less try and explain to an 8 & 6yr old what these people did and why.

    I’m at a disadvantage…or maybe an advantage.

I haven’t seen the news since yesterday and then it was just for a 1/2 hour of HLN. Maybe I should watch before my fingers start typing.

I’m going to guess what runs through my mind isn’t the same as what runs through someone that would do such a indescribable action. But, do you think the “fame” is what he was thinking while planning this out?

Does AZ have the death penalty?

Yes….. if it was ever used before… this is a slam dunk. I too did not need to see his ugly mug on the news tonight… fricken little smirk on his face in the mugshot… Give me 10 minutes with this clown… nobody would need to hear or think of him again and maybe then we can all just remember the victims, especially the little 9 year old…

    All about ratings imho.
Doesn’t matter what it is as long as their ratings go up.

It does not matter. I bet dollars to donuts that he is mentally ill, and will never see the shining lights of the death chamber.

Any person who would do this to another human being deserves no respect, and may he rot in he.ll

Ok, so the guys whacked. So how do you hunters here justify having him purchase a 30 round clip for a handgun? He walks into a Sportmart and legally buys a clip that added to the carnage. It was illegal there for a bit. Why do we need this again?

Why should law-abiding citizens have what they can -and can-not have be dictated by the actions of one freak from hell. That’s just like the stupid argument for gun restrictions. Make it more difficult for a person to buy it legally, yet a criminal will buy it out of the trunk of a car with no restrictions other than paying cash.

What does being a hunter have anything to do with this? What does a 30 round clip have to do with it?

So, let’s pretend the gun is at fault and just like in Australia, all guns are removed from the public. Then what? You can learn how to build bombs out of a lot of household items on the internet. Are we going to eliminate the sale of garden fertilizer?

Seriously!!! This is about individuals who were never taught to be accountable for their actions. They were never taught that life isn’t fair, but if you work hard and do the best you can, it’s OK. This is about kids who think, I can’t wait to see my name in lights. This has NOTHING to do with a gun that holds 30 rounds. I don’t blame the spoon for making me fat!!!!!

Sadly, Kooty is right…we’ve created a society where there are no accidents, you have to put a warning label on your fast-food coffee cup, and someone(else) has to take the fall for other’s idiocy–just ask any landowner who’s been sued by the trespasser who got hurt. We live in a society where we don’t ever seem to want to accept responsibility for our negative actions, yet jump at the chance to reap the rewards and credit for something we don’t deserve; and it’s getting worse. For sportsman, all the little encounters with idiots in the woods or at the boat ramp are examples of the same type of thinking–the idea that people “deserve” to be the center of the universe by simply existing and everyone else can kiss off, with no repurcussions–except this here is on a whole different, awful scale.
Yes, he’s sick; and yes, I hope he pays HARD before he rots. What I would REALLY like tho, is before he does, I’d like him to really, TRULY comprehend the magnitude of the pain and hurt he’s caused so many people…I want him to really feel that just before he gets his, and go out with that as a last thought. Sadly, I doubt it will happen…we (as a society) don’t seem to think much anymore about our actions. Too bad for us…

    Ok, off my soapbox now–sorry!

I was out plowing last year in a skid loader and the ear muffs I have picks up radio stations. Not many but some, and well in the wee hours of the morning there isn’t much on so I usually tune into talk radio.

This particular time they were talking about the Oprah show and the lady who had her face pretty much ripped off by a pet chimp. A husband and wife duo called into this talk radio show because they were talking about it and were yelling at this guy. They were yelling at him because oprah’s producers decided to NOT post that show on youtube like they do all the others, they also decided to keep the episode off the dvd. These two spent about an hour bickering with this guy as to why it wasn’t available online as they really wanted to see this ladies face.

Finally the talk show host had enough and called them bad names and hung up on it. I guess the moral of my story is some people need to know, need to see, and want to see the bad aspects of situations.

I agree with you, just lock him up and be done with it. but because its something large and politics were involved this will continue to go on.

the sad part is they only mention the little girl and the big figures who got shot, and killed, they never mention much about the average joes who were there that got killed as well.

    Now that can be argued.

I had a reloading area in our basement when I was living at home. Being the safety conscious type of guy that I am, I had a fire extinguisher on the floor in that area, up against the wall between two studs (2.4s).

Well one day Mom was moving some cloths and knocked over the extinguisher. The lever leaned up against the stud and at that angle the unsecured pin dropped out. Before she knew it the whole area was filled with white dry chemical as the extinguisher completely discharged.

Mom had white hair before her time.

Using the reasoning that 30 round mags should not be allowed, then it would make sense to outlaw fire extinguishers.

On a side note, she doesn’t like it when I talk about this.

If I don’t get a little further down the “straighten up and fly right” path, there may be an opening for a new resident at my house soon.

    So . . . How’d you know?
