New grill

    I received a new gas grill for Christmas and was just wondering what others out there like to christen in a new grill? I have heard of frying bacon on there the first time, giving it good flavor for the life of the grill. Just trying to see what others prefer. Would like to use it a few times before I slab on a few back straps.

    bacon is a good one. Or, a bone-in pork butt.

    coat in vegtable oil then cook some burgers with chopped bacon and onion mixed into the patties

    I just spray the heck out of the inside with Pam Cooking Spray and turn it on high for a while. You gotta burn off all the machine oil and the paint coating that gets on the inside of the lid before you cook on it. Nothing worse than melted paint flakes on your burger.

    the step I forgot to mention after coating it with oil then cook the heck out of it then get the burgers grillin!

    Dust some ribs with a good rub, let em sit overnight. Then grill for about 3 hrs on low indirect heat.

    As said before turn it on high and let it go for an hour or two!
    Do the same w/ new smokers before adding wood (for elect or propane ones)
