Craigslist

This guy goes onto craigslist, finds postings put up by unsuspecting victims, then he proceeds to bait them in, mess with them, confuse them, and or completely pizz these people off. When he’s done exchanging emails with these strangers back and fourth, he posts the entire email thread on his blog for us to laugh at! I’m telling you this guy is a genius with some of the crap he comes up with, I’ve laughed so hard at a few of these that I’ve started to cry!

Man, I am always trying to think of something fun like this to do on the internet.

Craigslist is the one site I really never have visited much….as far as you know.

I have heard of similar things while messing with telemarketers and survey folks calling the house – just a little harder to be anonymous on those.

For every conversation he puts on that website, he probably emailed 100 ads or more. It’s only the people that respond back to him with thinking he’s serious that get picked on.

If someone responded to your ad and said any of the things that guy said, you simply wouldn’t respond. It’s the people that can’t understand sarcasm or look for an opportunity to jump on their soap box at every corner that we’re laughing at.

Hell, even my buddy with Aspergers would pick up on the sarcasm in that guy’s responses (see what I did there).

I think it is hilarious.

I mean can you really be sympathetic for a guy with an ad like:

Original ad:

**** Disguisable weapons wanted ****

Wanted: hidden blades, belt buckle knives, cane swords, etc…..

Offering: cash, items for barter

The end of the email chain where the guy loses it is a perfect ending. I mean, have a sense of humor and say, “Lol, ok, you got me”. By going off on a tirade to a stranger over email, well, you are just playing into it.

I also like the comments at the bottom on the soccer one. How pathetic is it that you get upset about the joke that you completely miss the point and start arguing about soccer, rugby, etc.

Funny as heck. Love the cat ones. “Yes your six kittens will be well treated. That is until I need to feed my tiger”.

How can you not appreciate the creativity (and handiness) it took to conceal an M16 to look like a case of Sprite?

If some guy sent me those emails, I’d be too busy rolling on the floor laughing to even consider for a second that they were serious.

I just can’t get the imagery of some creepy, hasn’t showered in days, never had a girlfriend, weirdo that lives in his grandma’s basement and spends all day and night sending out harassing emails to people on CL until he gets someone to bite. I don’t find him clever. I find him disturbing and it makes it hard to see the humor in it.
